Dear Julieann,
Thank you for sending me an email welcoming me. And also tell your
soldier thank you for their service to our country. I am happy to hear
of the safe return and awaiting my own. Of course mine won't be for a
little while but it is the choice that I made like so many others. It
is something that we are very proud to do. My dad served and when I
made the choice he told me he was proud of me for following in his
steps. Well I need to get back to work I just wanted to say thank you
for the email and you have a nice day.

Hi everybody.
How
is eveyone today? I'm starting to get into a routine. I try
to work out after work for around an hour. I'm trying to
lose weight and get into shape. That can be a hard thing if you
see the food they serve us. The other night I had steak and
salmon. I'll try to eat small portions and drink lots of
water. Life's not so bad here, considering we're in a war
zone. I'm trying to be active in different events over here
so it won't be boring and time will fly by. The internet seems to
be a good release. I am able to contact good people like you
and talk about anything. The conversation makes things
easier for me. I appreciate all of the support we are
getting and the response has been amazing. Thank all of you
very much. You don't know how much your support means to us.

Dear Mrs. Julieann;
I
have about 700 soldiers under my spiritual care. Most of us
are already battle seasoned soldiers from other deployment.
For me, it is my second deployment in this country.
Most of my soldiers will be happy to have some good quality
socks. Either white socks for PT or military socks for daily
work will be greatly appreciated.
Also,
combat boots in size of 8 and 1/2 wide and 9 regular are greatly
demanded. We have two PXs in our post; however, those boots
are always short on supply.
Soldiers
on guard duty enjoy chewing beef jerky. It helps them to
stay
awake
and gives them good nutrition, too.
Birthday
cards, thank you cards and Christmas / Season's greeting cards are also
good items for us.
For
Christmas, small scales of Christmas trees are welcomed. My
soldiers are living in trailers. Small trees will be very
ideal for my soldiers to decorate and celebrate Christmas.
I
am so thankful for your support and dedication to America's soldiers.
Your
support means a lot to us.
Thank
you so much.

George,
The
day I arrived Baghdad the first package was waiting on me at the Brigade
HQ. The package was a true blessing. We can't weigh more
than 400 pounds. That includes me along with the body armor, molle
pack and Duffle bag. In order to get to the required weight
we have to travel Without most of the basic toiletry items. I was
planning on attempting To purchase the basic toiletries the day I
arrived. After being up for 48 hours the package was a very
welcome surprise. I can tell you have Been doing this for a
while. The package contained everything I needed.
I received the second package yesterday. You must have talked to
my Mother. It contained all my favorite snack
items!
I
am currently working with the unit that we are replacing. They
will Be leaving soon. I hope and pray that we can continue the IED
hunt with Their success.
Thank
you and everyone at home that continues to support the troops.

There was a ceremony yesterday for another Soldier and I to receive the
Combat Action Badge. He was hit with an IED during a convoy and I was
in fire fight in Fallujah during a mission. I can't wait to see what
pictures you send. I have never been to D.C. but I like to see everyone's pictures from there perspective.
Thanks again for everything.

This is great. This lady has "adopted" soldiers and sent me this picture and I am sharing with all of you.
And this note with a donation. That will go to help purchase the items for their Christmas.
Thank you so much Kathleen

All of the soldiers that we have sent care packages have said to send thanks to your organization.
Hope this donation helps to send more treats for our troops!

Well Thank you so much for all your accolades upon here in Afghanistan.
I am still amazed after 21 years of the support of the troops, the pride
and the support of all of you at home that makes being here more
comfortable and a little easier on us, so Thank you all.
I am part of a large unit here in Kabul. There are approx. 200 women and
1000 men. We are scattered out all over the country. So what we need is just whatever you would like to send.
We will appreciate anything and everything that is received by us.
We are just thankful for all of you that care so much to send us anything.
There is so much love still alive in America, and you all are such a shining
example of that love.
I thank you, and the soldiers here in the country of Afghanistan thank
you. If you would like a detailed list I will have to take it to the
soldiers and ask them. There are many soldiers that never receive a
package from home, and I know that whatever they received will put a
smile on their face and their heart.
Look forward to having more correspondence with you.
P.S. We also do alot of Humanitarian Missions here, we give to the
children, school supplies, backpacks, clothing, shoes (remember the
little girls cannot wear skirts or dresses) I noticed when I was out the
other day that the little boys either wear long sleeve blue or red
shirts, I saw some orange. Anyway we try here to send a message of love,
Maybe it will make a dent.

Julieann,
Thank you very much for the cookies! They were brought out to me a couple of days ago around 4PM, at 4:27 all of them were gone but 3 of them. (I kept those for myself.)
Me and the guys hadn't been back on post in almost a month and a half, so that was the closest thing we had had to home in a long while.
Thank you so much for what you do! It is because of people like you that gives us the motivation to do what we do!
Have a wonderful day and thank you again for the cookies.

Today at school we had a club fair so I got to speak about my club before the whole high school about my clubs in addition to the other clubs that were started at school. And like expected I got more members so I need an additional 10 soldiers! I realize them joining later could be considered an inconvenience but its not about us. I am so excited my group can help out so many soldiers!!! Thanks alot for everything and God Bless!!! Attached is the pictures of the car wash...hope you enjoy. We raised $435 and I planned it in one week!

This is great and from an "adopter" from her soldier. Thank
you for sharing Barbara / you all are making a difference.
Julieann....
I wanted to share a little something with you. I've been sending
pkgs. to Walter for many months. We email back and forth, send
pics, etc.
Today
I got a pkg. from him. It was a big US folded flag.
There was a picture in an album of their camp with 3 flags being flown
at the entrance. On the other side of this album it said 182nd BSB.
This
American Flag is being presented to Barb Sederburg - let it be known
that this certificate is to certify that this American Flag was flown
over the skies of Afghanistan at Forward Operating Base Salerno on the
3rd day of August 2007. In support of Operation Enduring Freedom
and the War on Terrorism. You are hereby presented this American Flag.
I
guess we never realize how much our cards, emails, letters and pkgs.
mean to them. This truly has been one of the most amazing days of my
life-what an Honor.
